…both the piece and the performance were pretty much the highlight of the whole concert. Larry Larson’s trumpet was beautiful and flawless, and the piece itself had echoes of Aaron Copland, John Williams and even Samuel Barber. Written for trumpet solo, strings and harp, Silent Town is a miniature masterpiece.
